Red Glead Discovery receives Lund municipality’s business award 2023

The award is given annually to a company in Lund that is working with global challenges of the future, that is innovative and that is recognised as a good ambassador for the municipality.

Since the start in 2011, Red Glead Discovery has helped over 250 biotech and pharma companies and academic groups discover or progress pharmaceutical candidates into preclinical development. Several of these compounds are now in clinical trials.

Recent partnering with a leading artificial intelligence company to develop and deliver a novel tool for drug discovery was initiated last year. This project intends to further support clients with their drug discovery efforts through increased speed, reduced cost and lower climate footprint. Johan Evenäs continues: “We believe that being sustainable also is a business advantage in our journey of becoming a leading and innovative European drug discovery company”.

A strong indicator of Red Glead Discovery´s commitment to sustainability is having set greenhouse gas emission reduction goals, which have been validated by the Science-based Targets Initiative, setting the course for achieving net-zero in 2045. Receiving the award is an acknowledgment of Red Glead Discovery´s continuous efforts to accelerate the discovery and development of innovative drugs that address global health challenges. It also highlights the commitment to environmental stewardship and, hopefully, serves as an inspiration for other businesses to join in the pursuit of a more sustainable future.

Lund municipality’s business award was established in 2019. The purpose of the award is to highlight the efforts of the industry in meeting the global challenges of the future, to emphasise the innovation power of companies/organizations and the role of entrepreneurs as ambassadors for the municipality. The jury for Lund’s municipality’s business award consists of representatives from the industry in Lund, Lund University, and the municipality.
